he Apple Jam is a roots-based music festival hosted by the Phelps family. This year, for the first time, the festival will be occurring at a new location. The Camp Moses Reservation in Russell, MA is the perfect place to turn up the volume! The Apple Jam offers an exclusive, family-friendly scene with national and regional music talent from Friday afternoon’s kick-off into Sunday’s rhythmic wind down.
ith a history of featuring roots genres from blues to bluegrass to zydeco to plain old dirty rock and roll, the Apple Jam will amp it up in 2015. Bring your family and camp in the designated camping area. Taste the different flavors of the food vendors. Dance in the sun by day and under the stars or by the big bonfire late night. Kids under 12 are free admission and will be entertained by the attractions in the kids’ tent including face painting, organized activities, scavenger hunts and games. This festival will be a musical experience that also offers activities to inspire the mind and body throughout the weekend.
The Russell air is temperate, even in the throes of the summer due to its proximity to the Berkshires and the Westfield River. Detaching from the daily grind doesn’t require hectic travel plans, itineraries, and credit card reservations. The 2015 Apple Jam Roots Music Festival will take place Friday, Aug. 21 through Sunday, Aug. 23 at Camp Moses Reservation in Russell, Mass. This sixth Apple Jam will continue the tradition of featuring American roots genres including bluegrass, blues, indie, funk, rock, and Americana. Camp Moses Reservation is located at 310 Birch Hill Road, Russell, Mass. The Reservation’s 1,600 wooded acres will provide an idyllic background for the festival’s spirit of harmony and connectedness.
